Chimhyang is the resin slowly formed over a long time in the Chimhyang tree (tree resin). Usually, Chimhyang resin is known to age over 1,000 years. Chimhyang is harvested from the Saehyangnoru's sap and is used with Sahyang, Yongyeonhyang made from deer antler velvet water extract in a creator's cauldron, and it is recognized as one of the world's top three incense. In fact, among them, it is rated the highest. The Chimhyang tree secretes resin to prevent damage or infection by bacteria when wounded. When the resin, which is secreted in liquid form, hardens over a long time, it becomes Chimhyang resin. This process usually takes decades, or even up to hundreds of years. Due to this long maturation period, Chimhyang is historically regarded as a precious oriental medicine ingredient.
