Insan Kim Il-hoon (1909-1992), the world's first inventor of Jukyeom (bamboo salt)
Master Kim Il-hoon of Insan invented Jukyeom in the 1920s, spreading it widely across the nation. Driven by the heart of an adult, he perfected and personally developed various types of bamboo salt, including Nandam-ban (Miracle Capsules), Sarijang, wool clothing, yellow duck, Dalugi, Ugeunpi, Muyeot, Balmaneul, walnut oil, Honghwas 씨, Ssukbokbeop, and alcohol leaf method. He generously shared the various methods he developed so that all citizens could use them. Following the 1980 publication of "Universe and New Medicine," the introduction of "New Medicine" in 1986 helped the native food industry flourish nationwide.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why is the color of burnt bamboo salt powder lighter?
The color difference between burnt bamboo salt (cakes) and powder is due to light reflection and absorption methods. Burnt bamboo salt cakes have larger particles that reflect less light, so the color appears darker. On the other hand, powder has smaller particles which reflect more light, making the color appear lighter. Similar to ice cubes, small air particles create this visual effect. Therefore, both burnt bamboo salt cakes and powder share the same quality.
Q. Why does burnt bamboo salt smell like roasted eggs?
During the ninth burning process inside bamboo, mineral components from the bamboo naturally infuse into the salt, producing a characteristic smell. The salt contains sulfur compounds found in eggshells which cause the roasted egg-like scent. Sulfur (S) is an essential mineral for our body.
Q. Is the color of 9-times burnt bamboo salt red?
Burnt bamboo salt is a natural stone color blend of light purple, gray, and black. It is not simply a red color produced by the manufacturing process as described by the creator. Different natural colors coexist similar to how natural jade stones show various colors. The red color comes from the bamboo salt, bamboo, traditional coloring materials, the burning method, and heating temperature, all of which are crucial elements in the traditional manufacturing process.
